The Moral Bankruptcy of Dehumanizing Dissent
MP Babou Ceesay’s grotesque comparison of Gambians Against Looted Assets (GALA) activists to vermin is more than offensive—it’s dangerous. These were young citizens demanding transparency in the sale of Jammeh’s stolen assets, a fight that should be celebrated, not criminalized.
– Dehumanization is a dictator’s tool. Jammeh used it. Barrow’s allies now use it.
– Who are the real pests? Not the protesters, but the leaders who loot in darkness.
Ceesay’s words aren’t just cruel—they greenlight repression. If accountability activists are “infestations,” what’s next? Arrests? Violence?
