In a decisive move to bolster road safety and maintain public order, the Gambia Police Force, in collaboration with various stakeholders, is set to launch an extensive operation focused on addressing illegal encroachments. This operation begins on October 19, 2023, starting in the Greater Banjul Area and subsequently expanding nationwide.
This comprehensive initiative involves the removal of both permanent and temporary structures that are in contravention of the established laws governing road safety and public order. The public is strongly encouraged to voluntarily dismantle any structures found to be in violation. The consequences for non-compliance will include the full enforcement of relevant laws by the Gambia Police Force.
This operation highlights the government’s commitment to ensuring safer road networks and orderly infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of public safety.
