The prolonged ordeal which happened at exactly 4:43pm left commuters onboard stranded in fear as the vessel fought to find its mooring.

Witnesses reported seeing the vessel struggle against strong gusts of wind — creating treacherous conditions which made it exceedingly difficult for the ferry to navigate and successfully dock, leading to a tense situation for those onboard and even those waiting onshore.

Passengers on onboard the ferry recounted moments of anxiety and uncertainty as the winds buffeted the ferry, causing it to sway and struggle to maintain its course. Onlookers from the terminal were also left in concern as they watched the harrowing scene unfold, unsure of the outcome.
